Blackflame smiled at her friend, a knowing look on her face. "How did you guess?" came the friendly purr. The calico she-cat simply smiled wryly at her companion and purred, "I can read minds." The sentence dripped with humor and the slightest pinch of sarcasm; just the way Blackflame liked it. "Actually you are welcome to join us, we were just waiting for someone to appear." Blackflame nodded knowingly at this. But dark red sparked out of the corner of her eye, and she then turned her attention to Copperpaw.
However, her attention was not held by the apprentice for long. Emberfall became where her cyan eyes were directed almost as soon as he stepped out of the den. The multi-colored warrior waved her feathering tail in slight greeting, giving a tiny smile to the tom. As he approached, Blackflame knew exactly what she was to say.
"Hey! Mind if I join you guys? The more the merrier." Blackflame responded with a cool tone, almost as if it didn't matter that much but was still her prime interest. "Of course. More cats, more prey!" She returned the cheery smile, but not at the intensity of which Emberfall had displayed it upon his muzzle; the calico warrior's expression seemed to almost flutter onto her face, coming gradually and sticking itself in one place to make it seem as natural as possible.

For a moment there Morninglight looked like there was something wrong with him, but when she said he could come all worries washed away. "Sweet! Where are we headed?" He flicked his fluffy tail back and forth, eyes bright with anticipation. He loved group hunts such as this one. They made him feel like a part of this clan, and really that was all he wanted, to be accepted. He looked around at all of the other cats, making sure he knew everyone that was going to be coming along. It looked like Cricketsong, Morninglight, Blackflame, and Copperpaw. He knew all of these cats fairly well, but was not particularly close to any of them. Now that he thought about it, he wasn't particularly close to anyone. It seemed odd to him that he didn't even have one friend. Emberfall rasped his tongue over his chest fur nervously, trying to calm himself down. He didn't want to appear too nervous or too excited. For some reason he could never reach a good in between point. Though, as it always did, grooming made his tense nerves calm. Finally he was relaxed. Inwardly, he hoped that this would be a good opportunity to get to know some of his clan-mates better. He liked everyone joining them, so hopefully it wasn't going to be too hard. Especially with Morninglight... she was sweet, but also a brilliant warrior. Maybe after today she'd see him as a friend. You seriously need to quit thinking so much about everything. He scolded himself in his mind. He let out a slight purr towards Blackflame, glad that Morninglight wasn't speaking for the whole group without knowing their true opinion and that more than just one cat accepted him. "Thanks." He replied simply, his words calm and sincere.

Cricketsong's daydream had been a very short one but already cats were rousing and coming at her from all directions. It would have been especially helpful for Thistledream to appear at that moment, but it didn't look like it. She was no deputy but she felt that this might end up a bit of a rabble, especially if they all went together. The amount of noise that the group of cats would make would scare all the prey away. Her mind was buzzing with thoughts and different feelings before she heard the soft voice of her apprentice Rabbitpaw. "Of course you can come, I will be able to see how your training is coming along." She meowed softly to her apprentice. She was glad that her apprentice had a good nature, that way they got along easily and the two she-cat could train together in peace.
Her amber eyes darting from side to side, the she-cat began to feel slightly claustrophobic with seven cats surrounding her. For a start Dawnfur and Cicadapaw appeared to be holding back so that meant only six cats including her were going on the patrol. She shrank back slightly from the crowd but she knew this group weren't going to sort themselves out. A puddle of guilt seemed to lie in her belly at this thought, where was Thistleheart? "Ok well for all the cats that are going on patrol I think we should maybe split in to two groups so we don't scare away all the prey." She began softly, not very confident. "I would like Rabbitpaw to come with me so I can check up on her training, and probably another too?" She added her tone soft and not very demanding. It felt wrong to her playing this role when there was a deputy. "Copperpaw - are you allowed to come?" She added suddenly remembering the young tom.

Morninglight's hopes had been rewarded, and she listened silently to Cricketsong's orders. It soon became obvious Cricketsong was a natural leader, and took things under control pretty easily.
"Ok well for all the cats that are going on patrol I think we should maybe split in to two groups so we don't scare away all the prey."
All though Cricketsong didn't look entire sure of her suggestion, Morninglight thought it was a wonderful idea, and upon a bit further observation, realized her clanmate was right. Wouldn't that be a useful patrol...
"Me and Emberfall could go together, and take Copperpaw." She immediately jumped in, wanting to get to know Emberfall a bit better.
"Why don't we make it one hunting patrol, and one border patrol?" She suggested feebly, and instantly regretted it, feeling stupid. The Clan needed prey. Though borders were important, the Clan's hunger would likely get more priority than keeping stray cats off their territory.

Copperpaw carefully weaved towards the ever expanding group of cats. Although he had just recently departed the Apprentice den, where everyone else was asleep, it seemed Cicadapaw could somehow wake up and dart out of the den like lightning without a stretch or yawn to interrupt his movements. Copperpaw didn't imagine any warrior could keep up with him, but his mentor did not seem to mind it. By the time Copperpaw reached the group of cats, Cicadapaw had darted back and forth two or three times, it seemed. Primarily, Copperpaw felt a little intimidated by the increasing group of warriors. Sure, he was acquainted with Rabbitpaw, but the warriors were a different story. They were tall, powerful. They had already earned their keep. Some had scars, some had knowledge glimmering in their eyes, and some had the experience written in their movements. Copperpaw, he felt like a squirming, bumbling, buffeting baby badger - clumsy, blind, and probably useless in a hunt.
Nonetheless, Copperpaw bowed his head deeply to Cricketsong and the others before replying with a sudden jerk to see if Heatherfur had risen yet. Indeed, she was not.
"I'm afraid..."
He began quietly whilst the others spoke, so he didn't disrupt their conversations.
"I am not sure. I'm nearly certain Heatherfur wouldn't mind, but..."
His ears perked when Morninglight suggested he join her and Emberfall. Joy sprouted in his chest, making him slightly more awake and energized. He promptly finished to Cricketsong.
"I wouldn't want to wake her to inquire as to if she has anything planned for today. A good patrol with Morninglight and Emberfall would help me with my training, though, and I don't think Heatherfur would mind."
He said this a little quickly, more and more excited by the prospect of a hunting patrol. He didn't want to leave his mentor without knowledge of his whereabouts but, glancing at the feeble pile of scraps, even an apprentice like him could be able to help, right? Maybe he'd even be able to give Heatherfur a nice mouse from the hunt.

The early bird catches the worm, they say... and then it gets caught by an early cat. Beaming from the glory of a bright morning catch, The slim black she-cat circled her prey, staring over her shoulder. There was always a strange feeling in the air that could not be ignored.
Sighing resignedly, she dug up at another spot in the hard, frozen ground. But it couldn't be long now for the sun to sweep the earth and make everyone just a bit warmer... Crescentmoon sighed, her namesake markings twitching in twin movements of her ears as she glanced once more at the solid tundra.
Nearly prancing, Crescentmoon entered the camp, eyes clear from the fresh smell of day. She glanced around as she set her prey down and seemed to detect a sudden halt in the thought proccesses of every cat. Looking at her feet, she saw the reason, "oh, empty pile. I see that my catch is quite wanted right now, yes?". She purred, short plumy tail waving back and forth. Blinking, she looked around, "Now where has Tarragonpaw got to? I hope his mentor is working him hard," She chuckled good naturedly and spotted Copperpaw closest to the group of cats around her. "Did Copperpaw come out already or is he still sleeping?" She cocked her head slightly, white-blue eyes nearly reflecting another cat as she interrogated the shy apprentice in front of her.
(Oh. My. GAWD It has been so long -huggles literate roleplay- I missed you so much, baby... And I kind of suck after so long xD;;; _

Inwardly, Emberfall was bursting with joy at the thought of being able to go out and hunt with Morninglight and Copperpaw. Both of them were great cats who he thought of fondly. If only I was Copperpaw's mentor! He thought to himself, though he made sure not to think too much about the idea so he didn't get his hopes up for anything. Copperpaw already had a mentor. "That's a great idea, Morninglight!" The calico tom purred "That way we can split into two groups and not scare away the prey, and we can patrol as well as fill up the kill pile." Speaking his opinion wasn't so hard, but afterwards he always felt nervous, like secretly everyone hated his ideas. This was probably common in warriors, though. The tom's bright amber eyes sparkled in the sunlight and the reflecting snow, giving the tom a warm aura, despite the bitter cold. He flicked his tail back and forth, as he always did when he felt extreme emotions such as joy or anger, or even a more mild one like boredom. (Sorry for short post Couldn't think for the life of me anything else to add)

Dark ears twitched as Morninglight was the next to speak, her eyes settled on the tabby she-cat while she listened. Well that was that sorted then, if Morninglight was willing to take Emberfall and Copperpaw then she would be able to hunt with her apprentice Rabbitpaw and her friend Blackflame. The way this had turned out was rather pleasing and she nodded to Morninglight. "Sure that would work out, but if Heatherfur is mad I am in no way responsible." Cricketsong teased with a soft purr. "Like I said Copperpaw, it's not my fault if Heatherfur gets mad, but I hope she wont." Cricketsong added and dipped her head to say goodbye to the three cats going hunting. It was rather sweet how Copperpaw behaved, a little like a male version of Rabbitpaw. It was always so much nicer to have a well behaved apprentice but saying that Cricketsong had only had one apprentice which was Rabbitpaw.
Turning to look at Rabbitpaw and Blackflame the corners of her maw twitched slightly, it was good to be around others you got along with. "Well it looks like it will just be us Rabbitpaw, Blackflame." She told her friends softly. Being with the two she-cats would give her a chance to relax and enjoy herself without having to be bitter or calculating. "So Rabbitpaw, where do you think would be a wise place to hunt?" She asked, hoping to see if her apprentice could pick correctly after considering the weather conditions and the wind direction. Her gaze flicked to Blackflame as she silently begged her not to help Rabbitpaw at this point in time, before she returned to watching Rabbitpaw. Although the young female would not be leading a patrol for some time it would help her to get some practice with decision making now.

Morninglight couldn't help a small smile tweaking at the corners of he mouth.
"But if Heatherfur is mad I am in no way responsible."
Though she knew Cricketsong was right, she didn't think much of it. If Heatherfur wasn't here, then there must be a fairly good reason, and she didn't think it fair to stop an apprentice from going out on a hunting patrol simply because his mentor was nowhere in sight.
She turned around, to Emberfall and Copperpaw. He gaze immediately fell onto Emberfall, expectantly. Him being the oldest of the group, she automatically assumed he would be the one leading the patrol and giving the orders.

Emberfall purred with amusement at Cricketsong's comment, whiskers twitching slightly. He watched as the group soon sort of split into two groups, one of Rabbitpaw, Cricketsong, and Blackflame, the other of Morninglight, himself, and Copperpaw. His amber gaze turned from the mass and focused on the other two cats in his group, looking expectantly at the two of them. Morninglight seemed to be looking back at him in the exact same manner. He flicked his ears, realization flooding over him. I'm the most senior- He cut himself off. Phrasing it like that made him sound old, and he was very sure that old was one thing he was not. I'm the most experienced. He decided that sounded much better. "Oh, uh, right... We should probably patrol the south side of the territory. We've been finding the most prey there so if anyone was going to invade it would probably be there. He studied their expressions, wondering what they'd think of his logic. He tried not to look worried or unsure of himself, wanting to prove that he really deserved to lead the two of them.
