Copperpaw bowed his head to Cricketsong, offering her a warm smile which tainted his maw. "If Heatherfur does become upset, I'll be the one to face punishment." He said this with a near chuckle in his throat, revealing he didn't think he would mind if his mentor found his activities disrupting her schedule. Of course, he had only been her apprentice for two moons, and had yet to truly understand her entirely.
Heatherfur is indeed a complex character.
He thought to himself before turning to Morninglight and Emberfall, and seeing the expectant glances the two shared. Copperpaw smiled bashfully to himself, observing the two warriors carefully for a brief moment. Morninglight was kind and caring. Emberfall seemed to be friendly, and experienced. Perhaps this would be a good experience for Copperpaw in turn.
"Oh, uh, right... We should probably patrol the south side of the territory. We've been finding the most prey there so if anyone was going to invade it would probably be there.
The south was where the sun shone most on the territory. The frost melted into the ground and softened it, allowing for prey animals to scurry about the surface. There was quite a catch of prey there, and wherever a rogue would be, that would be the place. Rogues were scavengers, hunting for food whether they deserved it or not. To a rouge, the southern territories would be just the place to walk into the territory, snatch up some mice, and be on his merry way. the south would be a perfect place to patrol and save the prey from the rogue and for the clan.
Copperpaw nodded quickly, but didn't voice his opinion. He waited for Morninglight to speak, allowing her - as a warrior - to speak out first should she object to Emberfall's plan. He had content bronze/amber eyes that gave little discomfort to anyone. These coppery orbs turned slowly onto Morninglight, and remained, patient for her opinion.

Nothing being done, Morninglight quietly took the lead, wondering if perhaps she should have waited for Emberfall just a little longer.
"Let's try by that stream first." She suggested, hoping the others agreed with her.
But she pushed all nervous and uncertain thought away, and putting a convincing smile on her face, she set out through the camp entrance and over to the stream she had just mentioned.
The stream was flowing silently through the woods. Morninglight stopped, and stared at it for a couple moments. The stream curiously reminded of what a cat's life might be like... Twists and turns.. and obstacles to get around... But sometimes.. the stream meets another stream, and they join together... She wondered if her stream would ever do that...
She shook away her thoughts as she heard Emberfall and Copperpaw approach.

Failing to respond to his idea, Morninglight took the lead. He flicked his whiskers with thought, deciding to let her do so. Every cat needed a chance to lead, and so he would let her have this chance. "Sounds like a plan." He nodded, following the she-cat. He couldn't help but admire her beauty. Her smooth tabby fur, knowing tone, and natural leading qualities made her quite the catch. But what she-cat would be attracted to him? He forced himself to drop the matter and focus on his surroundings, listening intently to the sounds of nature. He wondered how the hunting party was doing. Had they caught any prey? Had they even left camp yet? Emberfall was the type to think about everything, whether he needed to or not. Luckily, he hardly ever shared these thoughts with others, or else cats would probably get very annoyed with him in those sorts of times. It was a good thing in some ways, though, because it had turned him into a very responsible cat who always thought things through. Some might think he would miss out on spontaneity, but he never had enjoyed such things. He liked for everything to be planned and expected.

Morninglight smiled as Emberfall and Copperpaw neared. Emberfall looked like he dreaming on his paws, she commented silently, and couldn't help but wonder what the older tom was thinking about. Her thoughts soon started to take her own path, and she began dreaming herself. After a couple moments she came back to her senses, and noticed shamefully that she had been staring at Emberfall the whole time.
"Sorry..." She murmured, before turning around, sniffing the air for a mouse, and setting off in completely the wrong direction... A couple fox-lengths in she remembered. What is wrong with me today? Focus on hunting! Not... Her thoughts trailed of, as she glanced back in despair, not wanting to make a fool of herself anymore in front of Emberfall and Copperpaw.
Luckily, she managed to spot a blackbird in front of her, and regained her composure. It hadn't even noticed her and practically jumped in her paws. This distracted her, and she managed to crouch down, and with a skill she had honed for moons, pounced and killed the bird with a swift bite.

Had she been staring back at him? It was quite possible, seeing as she apologized to him for something. His paws tingled a bit at this possibility, no matter how hard he tried not to dwell on it. He stopped suddenly, seeing that the she-cat was hunting something and he didn't want to scare it away. "Good catch." He praised, twitching his whiskers with admiration. Hopefully the other party was having just as much luck (if not more) as they were with prey. "The river's just up ahead." The tom said this mainly for Copperpaw's benefit, not sure how much his mentor had showed him around the territory. If it were new-leaf or green-leaf then the light patter of running water would be heard, but it was not, and so the river was frozen solid. Will I get an apprentice any time soon? He wondered inwardly. It was almost a given he would get one, being so experienced. The question was when? Being this anxious about something was unlike Emberfall. Normally he was calm and collected, letting what was going to happen happen and not worry about it. But he desperately wanted to be able to teach an apprentice.

Copperpaw followed to two warriors lightly on his paws, making sure he held just behind Emberfall's shoulders. He didn't want to look proud or impatient by running ahead of the experienced warrior. He trotted smoothly, glancing about him as he left the camp and followed Emberfall to where Morninglight had paused. As they approached, however, he began to slow down, and even bring himself to a stop a comfortable distance away so he was neither in the way or noticed to be lagging behind. Here, he took in his surroundings more thoroughly. He parted his mouth to sent the dry winter air and to taste the prey which had blown in with the wind. He could scent mouse and bird, but not much else. Most foragers had burrowed deep into the snow for warmth and protection. The ground was hard, so it would be difficult to dig for any prey. The river was indeed only a short distance away. There, they might even catch some fish if the ice wasn't too thick. That was a good idea. Slowly, Copperpaw's eyes focused back on the two warriors, just catching Morninglight skillfully snatch their first prey with a low crouch and a single bite. The bird didn't even make a sound, the kill had been so quick. What he wouldn't give to be that quick on his feet. He immediately shied from this thought. It'll take more than a wish to get you there, Copperpaw He told himself quietly. He knew it would take hard work as well as determination. He could see the many moons of practice and experience in the sheer speed of Morninglight's strike. He also found her meekness something to seek for himself. Emberfall seems to like that in her as well. Copperpaw noted to himself, a slight smile tugging at his maw. In the short minutes he had been around the two of them, he new they would have a good friendship... if not something more. But, these thoughts were not for him. Copperpaw promptly shook them from his mind and decided to focus on the prey rather than his comrades. He bowed his head to Morninglight in respect for her kill, then turned to Emberfall. "Do you think we'll be able to catch some fish?" It wasn't too late into leaf-bare, perhaps the ice would still be thin.
((Sorry, not a whole lot of speech there. Dx))

"Thanks!" Morninglight smiled at Emberfall. "It wasn't... I just made a mistake.."
"Maybe we could catch fish?" She looked up at Copperpaw's words, and thought for a moment. Fish. That wasn't a bad idea. SilentClan cats obviously weren't great fishers, but they could learn. Anybody would welcome the extra prey... She thought.
"That's a great idea, Copperpaw!" She praised the apprentice. She was about to tell him they could go right now and try it out, but then she remembered that she wasn't Copperpaw's mentor, nor the most senior warrior in the patrol. "Emberfall, shall we try it out?"

"Fish does sound nice... Any food is helpful in these times. The only struggle would be finding a way to crack the ice so we can get to the fish." He pointed out with a skeptical tone. "I'm sure we'll figure out some way." The tom began to scan the area with his bright amber gaze. "What about that rock right there?" He twitched his tail in the direction of a big rock, probably about a square foot. "If anything's going to break that ice, this will." Emberfall padded over and scanned the moss-clad stone. He tried to nudge it with one paw, just to get an idea of how heavy it was and if the threesome would be able to move it. It didn't move a noticeable amount, but he could feel it slide slightly. "There's a chance we could move it.... Here, come on over."
(Sorry for crappy post >.<)

Morninglight looked at her paws. Of course, the ice! Why didn't I think of that! She moaned inwardly. She put on a bright face though, and pushed the bad thoughts away. "That's a good idea!" She murmured as she trotted over to help Emberfall push the rock into the frozen river.
After a moment or two of hard pushing, Morninglight gave up. "Copperpaw!" She called, hoping for some help from the apprentice. This might not be the best time to go on a trial fishing expedition, but everyone needs a little adventure now and then.
While she waited for the apprentice, she could feel Emberfall's presence beside her. In the brushing of their coats, and his breathing in the air. She shivered. They were so close... Maybe... She didn't even finish her thought. No, of course not. Stop thinking that. It'll never happen. She had to force herself to believe it.

Copperpaw jolted, quick on his feet to reply to Morninglight's plea and padding over to the small boulder. He took his place next to Morninglight so she was in the middle. He was only slightly smaller and had enough muscle to at least do his part. He cast Morninglight a slight smile before turning to the slate slab in front of him. He took in this portion of the rock, deciphering the best way to go about the situation. He could employ his upper-body and use his paws to push and his hind legs to keep him rooted to the ground... But then I wouldn't be much help force wise... He scolded himself silently, his eyes suddenly narrowed at the boulder. There was only one way to perform his duties fully. Without a word and with only a decisive nod and a determined glance, he dug his hind paws into the soft top soil and snow of the ground and thrust his shoulder up against the boulder, pushing with every muscle, and every inch of Apprentice determination. ((Who decides of the rock moves? 0_0 XD))
