Just what exactly was she doing here? To be honest, there were quite a few factors that had played into her current positioning.
First of all, she was tired of that nonsense the leader was always going on about - she wanted some adventure, whether or not they thought something weird was going on. However, she had balked at the idea of exploring the ice caves, which had always left her with a sour feeling in her stomach after talking about them, and so she had opted to invade what her Clanmates referred to as a holy ground, deciding that she had just a right to be there as any other cat, which ties in with her second bout of reasoning.
The small orange tabby had been having a chronic head pain of sorts lately, and had self-prescribed a cold trek across her Clan's territory - also known as the stark and unforgiving tundra - to the pines, which she hoped would somehow magically cure her migraines. Of course, she didn't actually believe that that bit of logic would pull through for her, and so she had come prepared with a plan C.
Heatherfur had had a sneaking suspicion lately that something wasn't quite right. However, none of her Clanmates seemed to share in her suspicions, save her sister, Reedpaw, who was generally always suspicious of one thing or another. To be fair, could one blame her? Reedpaw had been dealing with the steadily decomposing Gingerberry for the past few moons now - it was only to be expected that she was used to seeing the dark side of every cat and every thing. Gingerberry, in her old age and steadily debilitating mind, had determined that everything about the world they inhabited was inherently eveil - therefore, she should stay away from everything and send Reedpaw to do her work. Generally speaking, Reedpaw was exhausted most all the time. To cut a much longer story short, Heatherfur had decided to do a bit of snooping about on her own, and had decided to start her "investigation" at the pines.
Needless to say, she had found little besides a few frozen-solid mice and a headcold.
